Flag - Pindall\'s 9th Missouri Sharpshooters
Originally designed by Ms. Belle Edmondson, of Memphis, TN. In 1863 and 1864 these flags were made for Gen. John Bowen's Division and Maj-Gen. Sterling Price's troops. The first batch of flags, made in 1863, were made in Missouri. Another batch produced in 1864 were made in New Orleans, which was then under Federal control, and smuggled through enemy lines. An original example is held by the Missouri State Museum in Jefferson, MO.
