Flag - Gen. Forrest
Often attributed as the flag of General Nathan Bedford Forrest, this 12 star design was originally made in Mobile, AL. At the time the flag was designed there were 11 Confederate States, with Missouri being claimed by both sides.

Though it was issued to many, it is largely connected with Forrest with the false claim that the General disliked Kentucky (or Missouri) so much that he removed it's star from a flag that previously had 13, giving it the 12 star design. General Forrest's personal escort, an elite unit of around 70 men, kept using the flag when others were issued the 13 star design to let enemies know that he was on the battlefield, as Union Gen. Sherman would say that just knowing Gen. Forrest was in the fight was worth 40,000 troops itself. Sometimes the flag was flown when the General wasn't even on the field in order to scare the enemy!
