Does owning a Civil War flag mean you're a racist?
Not at all. For over 150 years people have displayed Civil War flags. The rebel flag became a symbol of a rebellious spirit in both the North and the South. Only recently have the extreme leftist media been able to convince uneducated people that displaying a flag from the Civil War era is "racist".
What materials are used in flags?
The most common type of flags are those printed on polyester fabric. These flags are light weight, durable with vivid colors. All of the flags on our website are polyester, often simply referred to as poly flags, unless otherwise noted.
We also carry some cotton flags. Cotton flags are best suited for indoor use or use in dry climates. Cotton flags are heavier and often have sewn details.
Both types of flags will have a strip of white cloth on the hoist with two metal grommets for hanging.
I'm looking for a specific flag, does Dixie Giftshop have it?
We have many suppliers and can find virtually any flag you may want. Additionally, we can produce custom printed flags for any flag you're looking for or from your own design. We are constantly adding new stock to our website, and we may even have the flag you're looking for in stock but not yet online. Simply send us a message with a description or a picture of the flag you need and we'll hook you up!
What service does Dixie Giftshop use for shipping?
All orders are sent out via United States Postal Service. Once shipped your order status will be updated to Shipped and a USPS tracking number will be available so you can track your order.
When will I get my order?
We try to ship out orders ASAP. Along with working our regular jobs 60+ hours a week we are also at the mercy of the postal service, our suppliers and their shippers and, for custom items, our print partners. We do not guarantee delivery dates! For items in stock it usually takes 2-5 days within the US. For custom items it may take several weeks to design, print and receive items. If an item is a gift or needed by a certain date please let us know and we will do everything in our power to make sure it reaches you as soon as possible.
What size flags does Dixie Giftshop carry?
While most of our flags are a standard 3ft by 5ft we carry, and can order, other sizes. From a small 4inx6in desk flag, 12inx16in car flag to flags as large as 6ft x 10 or larger!

What are the parts of a flag called?
The study of flags is called
Vexillology. A flag is at it's base a piece of fabric with various colors, symbols or words added. The basic parts of the flag are the background, or
Field. The upper left corner is the
Canton. A flag, may or may not have a canton. The side of the flag nearest the pole is known as the
hoist, while the side furthest is known as the
fly. A flag may be measured in height and width, or hoist and fly. A symbol added to the field is referred to as a
Charge, or sometimes a
Device. Additional words may be added to identify the owners of a flag or the battle they fought in.
The cross on the Confederate battle flag is known as a
Saltire, or St. Andrew's Cross. It is common to see battle honors added to the arms of the Saltire. On Hardee pattern flags (Blue field with a white circle device in the center) battle honors are often written inside or around the circle.

What does my order status mean?
As soon as you place your order it appears in our system. Once your order is accepted it will be marked as \"Order Recorded\". Once your order has been shipped it will be marked as \"Shipped\", and a tracking number will be added to your order history.
Since many of our flags are custom made in small batches that sell out quickly we may be waiting on stock to come in. If this is the case your order will be show as \"Awaiting Custom Product\", this status will also be applied if you have ordered custom items. We apologize for any delay as we get stock in weekly and ship orders out several times a week.
If you have received a full or partial refund you will see a \"Refund\" status on your order, with the amount refunded and a reason for the refund.
Each time your order status is updated you will be sent a message, please make sure emails from our website are not being send to your Spam or Trash folders. This happens frequently with services such as gmail, yahoo and others!
