Flag - Arkansas - 1924 to Present
The flag of the State of Arkansas consists of a red field with blue diamond, signaling the diamonds that can be found in the state. The diamond shape includes 25 stars to symbolize the state being the 25th state and the word ARKANSAS just to make sure you don't confuse it with any other state flag! Between 1913 and 1923 the flag had three stars in the center for France, Spain and the US (one above and two below) which all controlled the territory at one point. In 1923 an additional 4th star was added above the state's name to include the Confederate States of America and in 1924 the four stars were re-arranged with one above and three below the name of the state.
