The original flag resides in a Texas museum. This flag was delivered to the 5th Kentucky Regiment in early 1864, but was lost during the Battle of Atlanta on July 22nd of that year after 3 different color bearers were killed and the flag was taken by a private from the 2nd Iowa Infantry.
