Along with the Cherokee, the Creek, Seminole, and Chickasaw the Choctaw were part of the five civilized tribes. Many Choctaw fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War, including the Choctaw Braves, which brought up Mounted Rifles, Calvary, Warriors and Infantry.
