Adopted in 1861 and used during the civil war. The flag of the State of Mississippi is often referred to as the Mississippi Republic Flag, the Mississippi Secession Flag and the Mississippi Magnolia Flag. It remained the unofficial state flag after the war until a new flag was adopted in 1894.
