A Mexican tri-color flag with the date 1824 in the center, rather than the Mexican coat of arms. The date represents the Mexican Constitution of 1824 which gave Texans the same rights as Mexican citizens. When the Constitution was breached by Sana Anna the flag was used by those seeking to restore the Constitution. It is unlikely that it was flown by the men at the Alamo who were seeking an independent Texas, but the flag is forever linked to the Alamo site.
